Biological Properties
General Function Not Available
Specific Function Amphipathic peptide that shows antibacterial activity against E.coli (MIC=12.5 ug/ml) and S.aureus (MIC=12.5 ug/ml). Increases efficacy of antibiotics (ethambutol, pyrazinamide, isoniazid, rifampicin) when tested against S.aureus, probably by facilitating their incorporation into the bacteria. Has hemolytic activity against human erythrocytes (25 uM provokes 83% of hemolysis).
