| Description | Benzquinamide, also known as benzchinamid or BZQ, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as tetrahydroisoquinolines. These are tetrahydrogenated isoquinoline derivatives. Benzquinamide is a drug which is used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting associated with anesthesia and surgery, administered intramuscularly or intravenously. Benzquinamide is a discontinued antiemetic drug used in post-operative care. Benzquinamide is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). Benzquinamide is a potentially toxic compound. |
